Neat story.

As I've been watching Netflix recently, I've been noticing a lot of vintage pieces used as set props that I have in my very own home. It's so much fun to notice those sorts of things.
This screen shot is from the movie "Grown Ups" that I watched with weekend with my babe. (Very funny movie btw...)

And here's my matching mug!!

Neat story, right?!?!
I've also been watching "That 70's Show" from the beginning, and boy-oh-boy I've seen soo many identical accessories and clothing that either Butter Toast has, or I have myself. It would be so much fun to work on a set like that...ahh vintage heaven!!

Anywhoo, toodalou for now. Have a lovely rest of your night!!

Swoon Saturday.

Hey there! This is just a quickie Swoon Saturday, but I really wanted to share this adorable antique tricycle planter I just picked up. It's definitely what I'm swooning over today. I found it at an antique shop I just discovered downtown, Lizabel's Treasures. My experience there was so lovely-- friendly staff, great items, and great prices!

What do you think I should plant in it?

Hope your weekend is going swell!

Thrifted Thursday.

Hey y'all. Happy Thursday to you!
It's beautiful outside so I'm in an extra great mood. Open doors and windows sort of beautiful! Ahhh it feels so good to actually be able to wear layers! Oh how I love me some tights and blazers...
(well today is skinny jeans + blazer, but you get me, right?)
Thursday means I'm back with another installment of Thrifted Thursday...
Last weekend I traveled way out to the NW valley to one of my fave thrift shops that I hadn't been to in quite some time...and it was well worth it. I actually had to put back a bunch of stuff because I had surpassed my personal spending limit.

Here's a little glance at just a few things I got...
I was having some fun with my new phone's camera apps, so I apologize if you are the sort who doesn't love overly edited photos...I didn't tweek these at all, my phone did.

Clockwise:
 1. Pretty vintage floral jar
 2. A *matching* pyrex baking dish (same pattern as my last pyrex purchase)
 3. A gorgeous vintage scarf (perfect holiday colors, I'm already planning X-mas week outfits, teehee)
4. A perfect set of Russian nesting dolls, mentioned here.
Plus some pretty vintage linens:
AND some beautiful vintage slips, they were still in my laundry pile so no photo of those... sorry.

Thrifted anything good lately??

Happy Friday.

Well, well....I'm actually back with a post in < 10 days! (Let's see how long it lasts..) As you know it's Friday, and I'm uber happy about it. I don't have to man the shop tomorrow and I plan on enjoying every moment of the weekend with my mister. I have a few goals to accomplish this weekend...one of which I mentioned yesterday..increasing my new succulent garden! If all goes as planned tomorrow, Babe and I are guna hit a few local nurseries....and if I don't find what I'm looking for, I have plenty of succulent must-haves to purchase from The Succulent Garden on Etsy. I'm also hoping to fit in some thrift-therapy, and an evening bike ride.
I'm REALLY looking forward to Sunday evening...my brother (whom I haven't seen since Thanksgiving 2008) is in coming to town and we have dinner plans. I haven't decided where I want to take him yet because my obvious choice would be Cibo (my favorite pizza ever, ever, ever!) but I feel like I always choose Cibo, and want to (maybe) try something out of my usual realm. Any ideas Phoenicians? Let me know!
In honor of this happy Friday, here are a few images that make me happy. Click the images for sources.

Blast from the Past: Games.

I'm looking forward to continuing this Blast from the Past series for-ev-er....there is so much out there that I miss, and as I age the list of rad things that used-to-be will continue to grow. Ah the memories.

A few games I hope you will remember (and hopefully some you still play!):

Pretty Legs.

I have an obsession with legs. It's a new goal of mine to start capturing cute snapshots of pretty legs.

This one is a little behind the scenes snapshot from our recent Java Magazine fashion spread. The issue just came out, so I will (of course) be sharing more images from shoot very verrrry soon.

Vintage Paradise: The Shady Dell

At the beginning of the month I celebrated my one-year (dating) anniversary with my more than amazing boyfriend, Brad. He had mentioned staying at a unique place in Southern Arizona that he once passed through knowing I would love it for its vintage charm. I was more than thrilled to check it out. We ended up at the most amazing boutique motel Arizona has to offer, The Shady Dell. It was a complete vintage paradise, and such a memorable experience. Every thing about this place, down to every detail and hidden surprise, was incredible. Located in Bisbee, Arizona, The Shady Dell lets you experience the 1950's in full technicolor. It is a collection of vintage travel trailers, perfectly restored to combine mid-century Americana kitsch with the comforts of home in a way that only the 1950's were capable of.

We had the opportunity to stay inside the "Tiki Bus", such a good choice!

Every detail about this place was so perfect. The soundtrack: classic 50's music and vintage commericals. Plus hidden treasures everywhere. The drawers were filled with vintage photos, vintage games, vintage cookware, vintage records, vintage magazines and even vintage coozies, as seen on my beer to the right:

And we cant forget about my favorite little vintage cup:

We had a ton of fun playing croquet in the courtyard, playing on vintage trucks, AND the little row-boat on the side of the Tiki Bus:

AND we played dolls and got a little ridiculous with our tiki dashboard accessories. She is such a little floozy, showing us her goodies. Hehehe.

To make this place even MORE wonderful, there is a little vintage diner, Dot's Diner, located on-site. We had breakfast there...DELISH. And the personalities at Dot's are amazing. I want our sweet little waitress to serve us breakfast everyday.

Dot's Lingo was pretty amusing too:

We are thinking of shooting an editorial here for Butter Toast, how unbelievably perfect would it be??

Vintage HAT Star: Sienna Miller

So, I'm a huge hat person. I basically wear one everyday. And lately, it's been the same one because I'm semi-obsessed with it right now. I HATE to do my hair, and it's becoming increasingly harder to find the time to do to it anyway....so simple fix: HAT. One of my favorite VINTAGE hat-wearing starlets currently is Sienna Miller. I like her style all around, but her hat obsession is probably my favorite. Enjoy the photos lovelies, xox.
