My Nautical Weekend.

Hey there! I hope everyone had a safe and super fun Halloween weekend. I certainly had a lovely time celebrating my anniversary! I love, love, love being in love, I have such a great man to share my life with. I snapped several photos, not all good, not all bad....but I will warn you in advance that this post will be picture heavy, and I apologize in advance for my less-than-mediocre photography.
If you recall, we stayed on the Yacht at The Shady Dell. It was so magical, we couldn't stop talking about how we wanted to someday own something so awesome.
Besides Brad hitting his head almost every time he walked downstairs, every little detail on the boat was so perfect...even the bed was totally comfy and spacious. These are a few of the photos I was able to take of the inside and outside of the boat, some are from my digi-cam, some from my phone...
Harbie was our friendly gatekeeper...Isn't he adorable?!

Every vintage nautical detail was to-die-for!! I wanted to take all of the lovely knick-knacks home with me! Here are a couple more play-things from the yacht.
(I need to find a yacht planter for my home...like now!!)
This vintage board game was a blast! Brad ended up winning, but he was such a cute boyfriend, he tried to let me win, I just wouldn't allow it. Teehee!
I have so many great memories to take away from our mini vacay from the city...but this one is probably my favorite....Popping the champagne bottle and toasting to our love.

I didn't get the greatest photos of our nautical fashion, but here's a little looksy.

I'll be back a bit later with a New Loves post...
What was YOUR favorite part of the holiday weekend?

Thrifted Thursday.....ish.

Hey there, and Happy Thursday!
So, although I did find some awesome goodies at thrift shops this week...I totally forgot to snap a few pics to share. One of the things I've been on the hunt for is coffee mugs. The mister and I have a ton of coffee mugs, but they are all super small with awkward handles, (thanks, Ikea) I told Brad I'd solve the problem and find some vintage mugs at thrift shops..thus fulfilling my love of thrifting and our need for better coffee mugs. I found three cute mugs...but none were especially large (oops). I also found a real cute tweed fitted blazer similar to the one we have for sale here. And a sweet leather patchwork satchel, an ethnic mini shoulder bag, AND the most amazing chair I've seen in a long while. I will most definitely need to snap some pics to share of that one...I spent almost an entire day cleaning and sprucing it up to place in my living room.

But enough about my thrifted goodies...I have something else consuming my mind this week. My Anniversary!! My mister, Brad, and I have officially been dating two years as of Halloween night. I know for a lot of people, Halloween is their favorite holiday....but I'm more than happy to change Halloween to My Anniversary. Dressing up and all is a lot of fun, but Halloween marks so much more than that for me nowadays...It's now my/our day to celebrate being in love.
Last year we spent our anniversary at The Shady Dell in Bisbee, AZ. (See post about it here.) We had such an amazing time, I've decided that it shall be our annual anniversary desination from here on out. I know we'll never get sick of this place, it's a total dream come true. Last year, we stayed in the Tiki Bus, and this year we upgraded to the Yacht! A friend of mine suggested wearing a nautical wardrobe for the occasion...so I asked Babe if I could dress him up all weekend and he agreed!! (We'll see if I can actually get him into everything I picked out).
Ahhh, I'm so excited I can barely contain my excitement!! I will be back next week with a recap post of it all. For now, check out some images I snagged from Shady Dell's website of the 1940's yacht I reserved for us. (The fridge comes stocked with a bottle of champayne...How perfect for the occasion!)

I hope to take a million photos of our weekend to share! Saturday can not come soon enough!!
I'm going to get back to daydreaming now (teehee). I hope y'all are having a lovely day.

Vintage Paradise: The Shady Dell

At the beginning of the month I celebrated my one-year (dating) anniversary with my more than amazing boyfriend, Brad. He had mentioned staying at a unique place in Southern Arizona that he once passed through knowing I would love it for its vintage charm. I was more than thrilled to check it out. We ended up at the most amazing boutique motel Arizona has to offer, The Shady Dell. It was a complete vintage paradise, and such a memorable experience. Every thing about this place, down to every detail and hidden surprise, was incredible. Located in Bisbee, Arizona, The Shady Dell lets you experience the 1950's in full technicolor. It is a collection of vintage travel trailers, perfectly restored to combine mid-century Americana kitsch with the comforts of home in a way that only the 1950's were capable of.

We had the opportunity to stay inside the "Tiki Bus", such a good choice!

Every detail about this place was so perfect. The soundtrack: classic 50's music and vintage commericals. Plus hidden treasures everywhere. The drawers were filled with vintage photos, vintage games, vintage cookware, vintage records, vintage magazines and even vintage coozies, as seen on my beer to the right:

And we cant forget about my favorite little vintage cup:

We had a ton of fun playing croquet in the courtyard, playing on vintage trucks, AND the little row-boat on the side of the Tiki Bus:

AND we played dolls and got a little ridiculous with our tiki dashboard accessories. She is such a little floozy, showing us her goodies. Hehehe.

To make this place even MORE wonderful, there is a little vintage diner, Dot's Diner, located on-site. We had breakfast there...DELISH. And the personalities at Dot's are amazing. I want our sweet little waitress to serve us breakfast everyday.

Dot's Lingo was pretty amusing too:

We are thinking of shooting an editorial here for Butter Toast, how unbelievably perfect would it be??
