Let Your Freak Flag Fly

Hello all!
In celebration of the 4th (aside from eating apple pie, dressing in red/white/blue and watching fireworks) we want everyone to remember what the holiday is all about: independence! And what better way to display your freedom of speech/expression, but through how you dress?
So this Independence day let your freak flag fly and dress to express who you are!

Here are some fashionistas who aren't afraid to show their creative side. I hope they inspire you as much as they inspire me:

Get creative. Get colorful. Get cooky.

Celebrate your fashion freedom.

A "Toast" To All Our Chic Customers

In honor of all our stylish customers, we want to offer a little promotion/competition this summer. We have been posting pictures of our favorite outfits, but we want to see what all the Butter Toast-goers are wearing. So we have devised a plan....

We want you to submit a picture of yourself in your very favorite outfit (it can include vintage, thrifted, or new clothing). Every week we will chose our favorite submitted photo, and that person will receive 25% off their next purchase at Butter Toast, along with 15% off for a friend! The winner will be featured in our blog each week in a style post! Here are some of my favorite examples from LookBook:

Oxford Love.

I just stumbled upon this video and I'm in love. My oxford collection is slowly increasing, but I still have several on my holiday wishlist :)

We have loads of vintage oxfords (heeled and flats) at the shop right now, so if you're looking for something with vintage flair, make sure to stop by the shop soon!!

New Loves v.9

Good Morning and happy Tuesday to you! I'm finally on time for my New Loves post this week! I swear, it doesn't take me long to find a new artist to love as soon as I hop onto Etsy and start browsing. Today's New Loves artist was actually featured on the front page this morning, which is why she caught my attention. I used to have a quite a knack for fashion illustration in my late teens, and this artist made me realize how much I miss sketching. Her Etsy shop is called Robin Elizabeth Art, and it's full of uber amazing fashion illustrations and sketches. I adore her work, especially her use of pretty leggies! She has definitely inspired me to whip out the ol' sketch book tonight, and see if I still got it.  :)
Please check out Miss Robin Elizabeth, I hope you enjoy!!

Zooey, with antlers. So lovely!!

All images were sourced from Robin Elizabeth Art.

Have a lovely, inspiring day!!

Fashion Fest.

Howdy. I just wanted to drop a quick note to remind everyone of the Grand Ave. Festival happening this weekend. My business partner, Jasmine, worked really hard on the Fashion Shows part of the festival, and from what I hear it should be a great success. Plus...it's FREE! Here's a poster giving a few more details. For even more info about the fashion shows and other festival events please visit http://grandavephoenix.com/.

And if you make it to the shows, be sure to congratulate everyone for their efforts all summer to put this thing together.

Hope your day is starting off right!

Blast from the Past: Games.

I'm looking forward to continuing this Blast from the Past series for-ev-er....there is so much out there that I miss, and as I age the list of rad things that used-to-be will continue to grow. Ah the memories.

A few games I hope you will remember (and hopefully some you still play!):

First Friday Fashion: 3.5.10

Since I'm trying oh-so-hard to blog more, I decided to take a few snapshots of fashionistas and fashionistos that strolled through our boutique this past First Friday. I meant to get this post up on Saturday, but in le crazy life (crazy-busy) nothing gets done on time.

The drinks started flowing and the photo taking came to a halt. This weekend was full of fun fashion, this is just a glimpse of how hot downtown Phoenix can be.

Yes, I'm behind on blogging. And yes, there will be another installment of Blast from the past tomorrow <3
