You may have already heard the news, and it is true... Butter Toast Boutique is closing its doors. Don't be sad....Ok, you can be a little sad, we are too, but all good things must come to an end to make room for new good things!! We have had a blast with Butter Toast the last four years, and we are excited to create new chapters in our lives. Don't be surprised if you hear from us again in the future.

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our shoppers and supporters! Since the recent announcement of our closing, we have received overwhelming expressions of love and gratitude for our little shop. We greatly appreciate all your support over the last four years, we could not have done it without you. We have such great memories with our shoppers and all of you will always have a special place in our hearts.

As a final Thank You, we are making our last month in business Customer Appreciation Month! All Vintage in the shop is 50% off all month! We are filling our racks with all of our back-stock as we have room, so check back often for new items!!

New on Etsy!

Long time, no post....haha it seems like every time I finally find time to blog I have to start off like that...I'm not going to make anymore emtpy promises of blogging more often...because, clearly I can't keep my promises. But anyhow, here's a peek at some new vintage wears I've recently added to our online shop!

I hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying their summer!!

Pretty Pumpkins.

Hey there...extra long time no see. Once again, I've let a couple months pass without a single blog post. With the changing of the season, we have kept ourselves extremely busy here at Butter Toast. Autumn is treating us very well...but spare time has seemed to all but disappear. With that said, I want to apologize for the absence. I would normally now promise to post more regularly, but as we've come to find out, I can't always keep my blogging promises. So let's just get onto the pretty pumpkins!!

 (source: my pintrest)

I say forget traditional pumpkin carving...I'm adopting pumpkin flowers and pumpkin painting! I love all these cute ideas I've come across on Pintrest. We have a load of pumpkins outside of Butter Toast right now...I really hope I can find the time to paint at least a couple of them this season. The upside of not carving?...They'll look cute well past Halloween!

Hope this weekend is treating you well.

(Late Update) Shopper Style Winner(s)!!

Well, well, well...I've been absent (yet again) for two full weeks. Oh how I wish as life gets busier, the hours in the day would somehow get longer...Le sigh. At least after a long delay of posting, I'm back some coupons to give away to our latest shopper style winners!! Since I'm playing catch-up, today I have TWO winners!! Congratulations to Alena Merenkova and Ebony Whitaker!!

Now this little lady is the queen of mid-century dresses...doesn't she look fabulous in this one!?!?! Miss Alena is in it to win it! This is a 2nd giveaway from Butter Toast she's won this year!! Whoop! You can't win if you don't play!! But if you're like Alena, and you play often, you just may win often!

Miss Ebony was a new shopper to Butter Toast when I met her, she was so adorable loving all the vintage goodies in the shop. (She now calls herself an addict) She decided on this retro scarf (which complimented her hair so well). I was tickled when she sent in her photo of how she styled it. Mixing vintage with modern wears...bravo Ebony!

Although summer is coming to a close, we've decided to continue our Shopper Style contest...So it's never too late to play and win! I think I'll continue the contest until the Holiday season, at which time I'll round up all the winners for a chance at an extra special Holiday prize!! (Details TBA)

To enter: simply email your style photos/info to buttertoastboutique[at]gmail[dot]com with a subject title "Shopper Style".

I look forward to your emails!! Have a terrific Tuesday!

Yarn Bombing Love.

Happy Friday to you! I saw a great post on Yarn Bombing today via Apartment Therapy, and I immediately wanted to collect more images and make a post about it as well. (big, fat copycat..i know) It feels like forever since I've had time to pick up my crochet needles and yarn to just create. I love how busy the shop (and my personal life) have been lately, but it sure doesn't lend for much leisurely craft time. I should really set aside some time for crochet-therapy in the near future.
Here are some yarn bombing displays that I very much fancy:

We need more yarn art in Phoenix! I recently heard about a group of local ladies who are trying to start the movement here. I think I may need to connect with's such a beautiful, non-harmful form of art. The possibilities are endless.

Look of the Day: Unexpected Cut-Outs.

Hey everyone! Angela here. Hope everyone is having a terrific thursday and staying out of the heat (I know I am avoiding the outdoors like the plague). Last week I decided to step outside the box and wear something I usually stray from: the color brown. For some odd reason I just never wear brown. I do love coral and turquoise, so I think that helped to offset my brown psychological barrier when I was buying this dress. However, what really sold me on this dress was the back! I absolutely love when a shirt or dress has an unexpected cut-out. It adds so much to the piece!

floral print dress, thrifted
gold/silver embellished belt, butter toast
brown oxfords, steve madden
pendant necklace, UO (ages ago)

Since this outfit was such a success, I might have to reconsider my brown-phobia. Hope the rest of your day is fantastic :)

Look of the Day: Sheer Layers.

Hey there! Happy Friday to you! I'm back with another outfit post (already)! I've been dying to wear this gorgeous embroidered sheer cardigan-thingy since we discovered it hiding in back-stock recently. So yesterday, I went for it. I had envisioned dark skinny jeans with it, and thought either a skin-tight tank, or a loose/flowy tank would pair well. Clearly, I went with a flowy tank, and my new fave chunky wedges. I love, love, love the subtle feminine the pretty pleats on the blouse, and scalloped edges of the cardigan.

pink blouse, UO (sale, last year)
black skinnies, UO
gold chain necklace, Butter Toast
cameo watch, Butter Toast
wedges, name brand exchange

This may seem like a lot of layers for the dead of Phoenix summer, but the open/flowy fabrics helped a lot. And, you wouldn't believe it, but these skin-tight black pants are super breathable and bearable for summer. I think they will become a staple for those "I-don't-feel-like-shaving" days.

Anywho, I'm about to close up shop. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday evening!
