Look of the Day: Unexpected Cut-Outs.

Hey everyone! Angela here. Hope everyone is having a terrific thursday and staying out of the heat (I know I am avoiding the outdoors like the plague). Last week I decided to step outside the box and wear something I usually stray from: the color brown. For some odd reason I just never wear brown. I do love coral and turquoise, so I think that helped to offset my brown psychological barrier when I was buying this dress. However, what really sold me on this dress was the back! I absolutely love when a shirt or dress has an unexpected cut-out. It adds so much to the piece!

Since this outfit was such a success, I might have to reconsider my brown-phobia. Hope the rest of your day is fantastic :)

Best,
Angela

Her blog: Confession from a Shopaholic's College Closet.

Here's what Hayley wrote about us. SO sweet!
"I found this little gem at Butter Toast. It is the cutest little vintage store in Downtown Phoenix. I highly recommend it if you are looking for something vintage! They had so much good stuff and they said they get new stuff in daily! Seriously, to die for. And this little thing was only 8 dollars which made me and my college budget very very happy. My bow tie is a great addition and will get much use this fall as they are being seen all over the runways! Be brave and wear a bow tie, for fashion's sake."

Thank you to all the ladies in their Butter Toast vintage!
We appreciate you, and all of our supporters so much.

Feline Friday.

Hey y'all. Happy Friday to you! It's been a lovely crisp morning here in Phoenix, with a high temp of 72 degrees...it couldn't be more beautiful! Now that it's been so lovely outside, we've been keeping the doors at home open more to let fresh air in, and to let our kitties out to enjoy the weather...it has been quite a funny experience. Between April's (the little one) "big girl" attitude, bug chasing, and hissyfits with the neighborhood cats...my mister and I have had some great laughs at them lately. I've also recently found some pretty great/funny/awesome cat things online lately, and thus prompted another addition of Feline Friday.
Ready. Set. Go!

A few wacky paintings:
Cute and Kitschy:
World's cutest door stop:
Paul & Joe Kitty LIPSTICK!

My inner cat lady has to come out now and then. I get it from my grandma. ;)

Hope your Friday has started out great!!!

Swoon Saturday.

Hi. It's the Saturday after First Friday...and my head hurts a bit. But that doesn't stop me from swooning over oh-so-many things. :)

[1] This AMAZING upcycled vintage pet bed. My girls (kitties) are definitely getting one for Christmas!!
[2] Vintage floral brooches. I really need to expand my collection as well as the shop's collection. They are so pretty, I especially love to wear them/see them worn on hats. Found these little pretties on Etsy via RaeOfLight.

[3] OK, so I'm not "swooning" over this, but it's certainly good for some giggles. Enjoy!

Teehee! My dear friend Nicolle posted this on her facebook, I felt it necessary to share!! I'm not going to lie, I wanted to have a few panda moments this week, but I suppose it wouldnt be so funny if I wasn't wearing a giant panda costume.

I hope everyone's weekend has started off great, and (yay!) my headache is starting to seize!
Ta ta.

side note: I'm sorry I've been lacking in the post department this week, it's inevitable on First Friday weeks...I'll get back on schedule next week :)

Thrifted Thursday.....ish.

Hey there, and Happy Thursday!
So, although I did find some awesome goodies at thrift shops this week...I totally forgot to snap a few pics to share. One of the things I've been on the hunt for is coffee mugs. The mister and I have a ton of coffee mugs, but they are all super small with awkward handles, (thanks, Ikea) I told Brad I'd solve the problem and find some vintage mugs at thrift shops..thus fulfilling my love of thrifting and our need for better coffee mugs. I found three cute mugs...but none were especially large (oops). I also found a real cute tweed fitted blazer similar to the one we have for sale here. And a sweet leather patchwork satchel, an ethnic mini shoulder bag, AND the most amazing chair I've seen in a long while. I will most definitely need to snap some pics to share of that one...I spent almost an entire day cleaning and sprucing it up to place in my living room.

But enough about my thrifted goodies...I have something else consuming my mind this week. My Anniversary!! My mister, Brad, and I have officially been dating two years as of Halloween night. I know for a lot of people, Halloween is their favorite holiday....but I'm more than happy to change Halloween to My Anniversary. Dressing up and all is a lot of fun, but Halloween marks so much more than that for me nowadays...It's now my/our day to celebrate being in love.
Last year we spent our anniversary at The Shady Dell in Bisbee, AZ. (See post about it here.) We had such an amazing time, I've decided that it shall be our annual anniversary desination from here on out. I know we'll never get sick of this place, it's a total dream come true. Last year, we stayed in the Tiki Bus, and this year we upgraded to the Yacht! A friend of mine suggested wearing a nautical wardrobe for the occasion...so I asked Babe if I could dress him up all weekend and he agreed!! (We'll see if I can actually get him into everything I picked out).
Ahhh, I'm so excited I can barely contain my excitement!! I will be back next week with a recap post of it all. For now, check out some images I snagged from Shady Dell's website of the 1940's yacht I reserved for us. (The fridge comes stocked with a bottle of champayne...How perfect for the occasion!)

I hope to take a million photos of our weekend to share! Saturday can not come soon enough!!
I'm going to get back to daydreaming now (teehee). I hope y'all are having a lovely day.
