Look of the Day: Plaid Mini Shorts.

So, I'm a little late to post this look, but since I got a chance to snap a few photos, I figure, eh, why not? I wore this look last Friday (but have since been too busy to blog). The vintage blouse and shorts were both altered from their original state for a fresh look. We removed the sleeves from the blouse to highlight the pretty embroidered neckline, (the open/loose arm holes make wearing a black blouse in Phoenix actually bearable). We also hemmed up the shorts about 6" to summer-them-up a bit. Overall, this look is a bit dark for summer, but I was aching to wear those shorts, I couldn't help myself!!

It's going to be a lot of fun to transition these pieces into my autumn wardrobe. But since it's only July 7th, I suppose I should embrace summer a while longer.

Cool Vintage Breeze.

Phoenix is in an "Excessive Heat Warning" these days. We are expected to hit 115 degrees tomorrow. I'm doing everything I can to stay indoors, and stay cool. It would be extra, extra cool if I could surround myself with these fantastic vintage fans I've been oogaling over lately...

Sunday Daydreams.

I'm oogaling over these rooms lately. Daydreaming of cooking breakfast in that kitchen, pillow fighting with babe in that bedroom, and cuddling up for an afternoon read from that fantastic bookshelf/staircase. The robin's egg blue bring such a light and airy feel to the spaces. Swoon!

Desert Vagabond.

So, I got a lovely little email today from Alejandra of Imaginale. She informed us that she featured a vintage (& very awesome) ethnic fringe mini cape that she purchased from Butter Toast in her most recent fashion shoot entitled Desert Vagabond. Drooling Over Denim.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Jasmine and I (Angela) were on the hunt over the weekend searching for amazing vintage denim. My main project this summer as an intern for Butter Toast is to create and design a photo shoot, which I am extremely excited about (who wouldn't be?). My vision: denim on denim, with a side of denim.

We have lots of denim scraps at the store (from cutting pants into shorts and what not), and thought we should create some denim accessories for the shoot. Here are some of our ideas:

I also thought some fingerless gloves would look super cool in denim, but have no idea how we would make them (my sewing abilities are below elementary). We would love to get some suggestions on other possible denim accessories!
